About Us

Founded in 1952, in the heart of Sonoma County, Sebastopol Wranglers is a non-profit all breed, multi discipline, family oriented equestrian riding and driving club. We offer a variety of clinics, shows, family activities, and participate in community events.

Our Mission:

  • To promote the breeding, education and improvement, of driving and riding horses.
  • Sponsoring equestrian events under prevailing horse show rules and guidelines for the good of the Community.
  • The promotion of organized club rides, and improvement of riding skills.
  • The promotion of trails for riding throughout the Sebastopol area and Sonoma County, and the State of California.
  • The promotion of social activities and/or events for the pleasure of its members and guests.
  • The promotion of interest in riding for family groups and individual.
  • The promotion of and the perpetuation of good sportsmanship.

Barrel Racing

Well, we are wrapping up the season here at the Wranglers. We held our final 2014 event on October 26th - our Halloween Playday. It was a great time and terrific turnout and some FABULOUS costumes. Better late than never.... HERE are the scores from the October 5th Trail Obstacle Challenge

We will be holding a Work Day at the arena on . It's time to start taking down the wood fence boards and posts in preparation for reworking the arena footing and installing the pipe panel fencing. So we can use all the help we can get. If you have not gotten in all your work hours for the year, this would be a great time to catch up before next year. Remember, if you do not get in all your work hours it will be an additional $5 per hour not worked added to your 2015 membership fees.

2015 Board Members Needed! It is that time of the year when our members need to start thinking about the upcoming Board Member elections. There are a number of vacancies coming up on the Board for next year, and we are looking for folks to step up and take on some of these roles. Please consider getting more involved with the club by becoming a 2015 Board Member. If you are interested please send an email to and let us know what position you are interested in. All positions and descriptions can be found in the ByLaws.

We will be holding our Christmas/Holiday Party on this year. It will be held at the Sonoma County Riding and Driving Club clubhouse at the Fairgrounds. The Wranglers will be supplying Turkey and Ham and members are to bring a side or dessert. Also, please consider bringing an unwrapped toy for the Gold Ridge Fire Department's Toy Drive. More information to follow shortly.

SW Meetings

Our next Board Meeting will be held at 6:00pm at Hessel Fire Station. The General Meeting will follow at 7:00pm. We will be holding a vote for the 2015 Board Members, so come out to vote, or to submit your name for one of the Board positions.

Sonoma Action For Equine Rescue (SAFER)

SAFER is a local charity helping to rescue horses from bad situations or to buy horses at the local auction for later adoption. The charity also has a program to help supply hay to horse owners who want to keep their animals, but are having tough economic times.  SAFER is also always looking for more volunteers.  Please check out SAFER's HomePage for more information.

At the American Paint Horse Association, we know that your riding and driving activities are as diverse as the color patterns on the horses we register.
